May 6, 2012 Lighthouse Moon Walk
I’m sure by now you know all about the “super moon”– The promises of the “biggest moon EVER in a trillion years” with a name that’s more fitting for a character in the new Avengers movie… and a hype that rivaled the Lorax… sadly the ‘super moon’ was no match for the evil super villain…. Cloudy Night. Nonetheless, we decided to take part in the annual lighthouse moon walk; for those unfamiliar, the lighthouse climbing hours generally are 9am till 530pm in the summer time- so an opportunity to climb the light in the dark with flash lights was one worth taking advantage of. Doing my best to prop my camera against the wobbly railings in the dark I managed to get a couple decent slow exposure shots of the Buxton skyline and the eerie depths of the lighthouse’s characteristic spiral staircase. Sorry, no pics of the Super Moon perigee… next time; which in reality is a lot sooner than a trillion years despite the hype.

I did a couple edits recently of some pics I took at the end of last year. I had so much fun on these shoots- the thing I miss the most about Wilmington was the amazing team of individuals willing to work creatively into late hours and waning sunset just to get one more cool shot. Thanks all!

Took a long hike along the cape with my camera last night. The idea was to get some unique shots of the lighthouse at sun down… success? There was a nice cool breeze to keep the mosquito at bay… and a pretty fun swell at the end of the path.

March 18, 2012 shiftin’ and tiltin’ with long exposure
Lately is seems Ive been messing more with instagram and tilt-shift generator for my camera phone. So I figured it was time to pull out my 24mm tilt-shift and take some shots today.

Wind watching paid off, had a great couple hours south of Avon. After I got out I watched these windsurfers for a bit; just long enough to catch a few decent shots.
